U10 Boys at Mega Cup Tournament Today

Today was the first tournament of the season with the Pinecrest Premier Travel League.  The Mega Cup was hosted here in Miami and it was the first time the U10 Grey boys played a game together as a team.   This is a new team that was put together.. so they didn't have the comradery that a team that has been together for a while has.  That being said.. they did put up a good fight for both games and hopefully the images will portray that.  The MVP today was definitely the goalie who saved at least 20 or more shots that were taken.  The team needs to work on the defense so the goalie was almost solo most of the game with little defense.
We have high hopes for this team.  There are some very nice kids on the team and the coach seems motivated and committed!!   Here are some shots from the game!!! I dedicated some photos to just the goaliie... considering how hard he worked today. I can't wait to watch them grow as a team!!!  Jaime

Who Rescued Who?

Here is Frankie:
Frankie is the Famous Face of Friends Forever Rescue.  He was bashed in the head with a hammer by some kids and left to die.  He came into the hands of Dee Chess and Friends Forever Rescue.  Once healed Dee was looking for the perfect home for Frankie (Frankenstein because of his scars on his head) as she does with her rescue dogs.  That is where M came into the story and that was many years ago.  Now Frankie is 11 years old!

M and Frankie have had a very special friendship and I was lucky enough to feel the love in our photo session yesterday.  They are both so beautiful inside and out!  I can't wait to share with her, these emotional images!

the family came prepared.... they all looked stunning... they were relaxed.. the light was amazing.. location... perfect...
My client didn't want the traditional posed images.. she wanted to be..... be with her family..
Relax, play, have fun... well... here are just a few images...

IT HAS BEEN A WHILE.... this is what I have been up to.

So, I have been focusing my social media marketing time on facebook in the past few months.  That is why I haven't been blogging.  So, did you miss me?  If you are reading this... I really appreciate you taking the time.  I know how valuable our time is.. especially when it comes to social media.
I have been very busy myself....  shooting, aquiring new business, keeping my present clients happy.. trying to multitask.  I am at the point where I am going to hire a freelance photographer to help me.

I seem to have my niches carved out for me.  High volume--sports leagues... team&individual photos and the attitude panos... The 2 above are my favorite samples from this past season.

Added another preschool to the mix this fall---which I LOVE!!!!  I love getting to know the preschoolers and their personality in front of the camera and of course.. coming back year after year and watching them grow.  Here is a sample from one cutey I have photographed for a few years.  Now on to primary school!

Recently, I have been doing lots of actions sports photography as well.  I am always on the lookout for great, cool products to share with my teams and parents..  here are some samples....

Still photographing pets/dogs especially whenever I can...
Here is Helen... a rescue dog from Friends Forever Humane Society.  She is blind but you would never know it--she looks more like a Diva and a blind Rescue Dog... that is what makes Helen so special!!... here is a license plate I made for her owner.  One of the images we took from our photo session will be on the cover of the AMERICA's TOP DOG calendar.  She is an amazing dog and has a loving owner who is always taking Helen out to help raise $ for FFHS animal Rescue.
Helen.... the Diva with a heart of gold!

So many dogs being dropped off at Friends Forever Humane Society..... If you want to donate your time or $ .. please let me know.. My family and I do lots with FFHS Animal Rescue here in Miami...We were there last weekend with friends of ours... one who is a follow photographer, Amy Kelly.. check out her link and work!!

Are Our Children Really OURS?

Our children are like flowers/nature....
Our job as a parent is to nourish them, make sure they have clean air the breathe and light to grow.  Sometimes we need to help them change their direction, or cut them back a bit,  but eventually they wont need us as much.  Our children become self sufficient and go off to start their own lives. (or at least we hope they do!)

This photo session was taken with L and her 4 children.  Of the 4, one is already away at college, (home for spring break) another is graduating and leaving for college and L. has 1/2 of her brood left at home for a few more short years.

I look at L-------she is so beautiful, strong, successful, ...and she has managed to raise these four awesome children, that are now adults.  It was so cool to see the dynamics between the siblings together as well as with their mom.
I am so glad we were able to capture some special images of her children for her to embrace while they go conquer whatever the world has to offer them.
Peace.........
Jaime

Friends Forever Humane Society is a wonderful organization that I can not say no to when they ask me to volunteer my time to photograph an event.
his was a great event, 3rd year and the dogs and their owners had fun.  It was a stunning day in Miami to be out with our dogs..

WINNERS OF U10 GATOR SHOWCASE TOURNAMENT

Its late, I have been in the car for 6 hours and for the last 4 days, I have eaten, slept, walked, talked and lived soccer!  I felt PURE emotion (not my strongpoint!) to the point I cannot describe right now as I am beyond exhausted but I had to share with my followers.. as I am so proud, so extremely proud of our Pinecrest Premier u10 girls team.  Today they had the game of all games with some amazing competition...
tied at the final, another round and then penality kicks.....which Rachel stopped one which is when we won the game.....
there were tears of happiness, fear of failure.... REAL TEAMWORK like I had never seen...
Taylor said, If we win, we win as a team, if we lose, we lose as a team.. and that they did...WIN THAT IS!

anyway... I am proud to publish these images here first....

Here is the penalty kick Rachel saved that won our game.

Family Gift

"Grandchildren fill a space in your heart that you never knew was empty."
Author: Unknown

This photo session is a surprise birthday gift for the childrens' grandfather....
It made me think how life flies by so fast.   Capturing the gift of youth within a family brings pride and joy.....to any parent or grandparent.  It is a gift that gives each day.  My father tells me each day he looks at his grandchildrens' photographs under the glass on his desk.  He thanks me periodically (or reminds me when he needs updated photos) for the photographs as it is a great reminder of what is important in his life and to connect with family that lives far away.  For my father, most importantly it is a consistent reminder of what he has contributed to the world and seeing a piece of himself in each of his children and grandchildren as they grow.  PRICELESS!

Corporate Headshot

Lourdes is a personal and business coach.  She is currently working on her marketing and website and wanted some headshots to use for both print and web.  This was my favorite.... she is kind, warm, classic in her approach and very confident.  I look forward to working with her and using her services soon!

ROCK OUT!!

Today was an awesome day with M.  She is getting ready for her quince and her theme is rockstar.  This theme is very appropriate as she is in her own right "a rockstar".  M had such confidence and creativity in front of the camera.  She has her own style and is very photogenic.  A big thank you to Katrina from Lyons Salon (she is an amazing stylist BTW) for her patience and time today.  M and the whole gang had a blast and had fun rocking out in the studio!  :]

Determination, Courage and Perseverence

This winter break for my family has been all about the Orange Classic soccer tournament in Plantation.  The Pinecrest Premier U-10 girls just won this tournament in their division and it was an amazing feat to watch.  This team has been through so much over the past year or so.. Girls coming and going, some wanting to quit because it was so much work, practice, constructive criticism, game losses.  Being part of a soccer travel team is a huge commitment for the family & definitely takes a toll on us all.

THEN... we have this win!  A win with a team we have tried for the past 2 years to beat with no avail.  (Actually, this year we tied them 3 times)
We had the glory, the excitement and the feeling of all the hard work that just paid off.
We have these challenges through out our lives, working hard for something, wanting to quit because "It is Hard"or "I am so tired".  These girls are learning a life lesson and honestly, it was a reminder for me in my career as well.  Kudos, to Alex who is an amazing coach and has really shown our daughter and her team members how to work together, put feelings aside and play soccer with your heart and soul!
